Day Hike to Tiger’s Nest (Taktshang Monastery) Today, embark on an unforgettable hike to the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery, known locally as Taktshang Monastery, perched dramatically on a sheer cliff, 900 meters above the Paro Valley. Revered as one of Bhutan’s most sacred sites, this legendary monastery holds profound spiritual significance. According to legend, Guru Rinpoche, the revered Buddhist master, flew here on the back of a tigress and meditated in a cave for three months, bringing Buddhism to Bhutan.
