Our suggested itinerary offers you a perfect tailor made road trip experience in Arizona & Utah starting in Phoenix, then self driving to Monument Valley. Not much needs to be said about this unique location that will make you feel you are in a different planet. You will then drive through Bearizona Wildlife Nature Park where you can experience a close self drive encounter with bears ( don’t worry, it isn’t a zoo! ). Spend a night at nearby Flagstaff, where you can go hiking in Walnut Canyon & visit Sunset Crater Volcano or go skiing at Arizona Snowball Ski Resort (November to March). We have also included three nights at Sedona National Park, a perfect place to relax and admire its mesmerising red rock formations. If time and budget allows, you may consider to include a visit to the cowboy town of Prescott, Scottsdale and of course, Tucson, where you will find wonderful Ranches where you can spend a few nights and go horse riding with the local Cowboys! We have added a five night beach break at Los Angeles’ Santa Monica beach. Feel free to request a quote adjusting the number of nights at each location.

Experience a close encounter with a bear!

After breakfast, depart towards Flagstaff and three and a half hours later you will arrive at Bearizona Wildlife Park, a self drive nature park that will allow you to have a surreal close encounter with bears.

Don't worry, they will be roaming free and you will be driving along a forest and will have a great opportunity to take amazing photographs! While visiting this Nature Park, you will also see other animal species such as the North American river otter, Bob Cats, Javelinas, Red Foxes, porcupines, etc...

Today you will be driving through part of the historic Route 66 that connect East with West of USA.

Drive 30 minutes further and you will then arrive at your next stop over, the university town of Flagstaff.

Driving to one of many view points at sunrise and witnessing the sun coming out and reflecting on the red rocks is just magical!

In Sedona you can find plenty of meditation groups, yoga, hiking, hot air ballooning and jeep safaris that take you up the mountain. Often, you will find tourists trying to drive themselves up the mountain paths through dirt roads but this is not a good idea. Even a good SUV 4x4 will struggle!

Wake up early and go hiking and witness the spectacular sunrises from many different view points.

Seeing the first sun reflections on the mountains is just so special! The town of Sedona is small and vibrant, full of local shops, local restaurants and fun bars!

Drive just under three hours South to Phoenix airport and return your rental car.

Take a short direct flight to Los Angeles.

On arrival at LAX airport, take a taxi to your hotel in Santa Monica. The taxi will cost under 40usd one way and it will take between 30 and 40 minutes to get to your chosen hotel, Hotel Carmel, which is located a minute walk to Santa Monica Pier and next to the famous Third Street Promenade shopping district in Santa Monica.
