The Islands Of Tahiti
Tahiti, the largest island group of French Polynesia, is formed by 118 islands and Atolls, scattered across five different Archipelagos, covering over two million square miles of the South Pacific Ocean, an area larger than the size of Europe:
- Society Archipelago ( Bora Bora, Huahine, Taha’a, Raiatea, Moorea, Maupiti, Tetiaroa, Tahiti… )
- Tuamotu Archipelago ( Tikehau, Rangiroa, Mataiva, Fakarava, Manihi, Takapoto, Kauehi… )
- Gambier Archipelago ( Mangareva, Morane, VAnavana, Tureia, Maturea… )
- Austral Archipelago ( Rimatara, Rurutu, Tubuai, Raivanae, Rapa, Marotiri… )
- Marquesas Archipelago ( Nuku Hiva, Ua Pou, Tahuata, Fatu Hiva, Hiva Oa… )
The three most visited Archipelagos are the Society Islands, the Tuamot Islands ( also known as the “Tahiti’s Strand of Pearls” ) and The Marquesas ( known as the “Misterious Islands” )
